Skin Care in Winter

With the end of rainy season the climate enters into the change of winds from soothing to chills. In winters, skin loses its glow, texture due to increases dryness, dehydrated skin. According to Ayurveda, winter possess cold, dry and windy air that intensify the skin and imbalances vata disciple. To overcome the skin problem in winter you must indulge in reversing the skin condition. Add warm foods and beverages, water based foods. Apply some healthy oil and vitamin E enriched creams and moisturizer that will rejuvenate your skin.

To make skin look good, health and young one must rely on few options. Likewise, you must try some healthy home remedies for dry skin or can apply homemade moisturizer for winter or can opt for winter skin care ayurvedic products, ayurvedic remedies for skin. Along with all the measures given above every person must take a good and well balanced nutrition to take good skin care in winters.

Dietary Modification for Skin Care in Winter

 Drinking 12-15 glasses of water.

 Adding healthy essential oils.

 Ingesting vitamin and mineral rich foods.

 Taking good biological protein in diet.

 Try adding detoxifying drinks at least once a week. (It may include drinks that promote liver, kidney and blood purification).

 Take organic foods. Avoid chemicals and pesticide based food products.

 Take dinner light. And lunch can add variety and bit heavier meal.

 Keep away from the processed and packed foods.

 Avoid easy-to- cook or ready-to- cook meals or food products.

 Avoid junk food.

 Prevent sugary, cream, bakery and confectionary food items.

Some Ayurvedic Tips for Skin Care in Winter

In winter skin care routine changes ups and down. It is a good practice to modify the daily regime before the skin loses its glow and shine.

1) Must do oil massage every night before you are off to sleep.

2) Inclusion of omega fatty acids in diet, especially omega 3 fatty acids enriched foods like walnut, almonds, flaxseeds, sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds, fresh coconut, avocado, olive oil.

3) Do exercise of about 30 minutes daily. May do 30 minutes of brisk can also be done. Sweat for about 45 minutes twice a day.

4) While using the blower, put some water that may convert into steam. It prevents water loss from the body.

5) Inhibit use of hot water for bath. Use only warm water.

6) Massage your body with vitamin E rich cream or oil at least 30 to 40 minutes for you bath.

7) As per Ayurveda, in winters the body needs more nutrients to recover from the cold and chilled winds. Thus, Ayurveda proposes consumption of foods which are sweet, sour and salty in nature.

8) Ingesting milk approximately 500 ml daily is good instead of intake of tea and coffee. It will prevent acidity and give warmth. For better results, add a pinch (2-3 gms) of dry ginger powder or methi powder or almond powder or black and white pepper powder.

9) Add jiggery to diet.

10) Add citrus fruits in diet.

11) Include salads without dressings.

12) Append urad dal, wheat, meat, poultry, eggs, herbal tea, lemon tea, green tea, fresh coconut, coconut water, soaked almonds, walnuts, dry dates, chilgoza, nishasta milk, methi ladoo in winters to keep up the body temperature and skin glow.

13) Exclude use of punitive soaps. Practice usage of soaps that contain natural oils and glycerin that ensures the soften skin. It keeps the glow of the skin intact. Applying rose cream or rose water in night before sleep gives shiny skin too.

14) A blend of glycerine and lime juice or lemon juice, massage with it over skin every night and leave it on for the whole night. Skin will boost up into soft and glorifying skin.

15) Anuvasan Basti (sneha basti) among from the Panchakarma controls internal and external oleation. Usage of Abhyanga and swedan provides smooth, soft, velvety, shiny, glossy skin. On the contrary, it relaxes the complete body.
